The Maratona dles Dolomites (Dolomites Marathon), also simply known as La Maratona, is an annual single-day road bicycle racing race covering seven mountain passes in the Dolomites. Open to amateurs and professional cyclists alike, the Maratona—with 9,000 riders from 43 nations—is the biggest of the annual Italian Granfondo bicycle races. National Geographic described it as “one of the biggest, most passionate, and most chaotic bike races on Earth.”
